Spurs are tracking Rijeka’s Ivan Lepinjica and sent a scout to watch the teenage holding midfielder in Wednesday’s Croatian cup final.

Sportskih Novosti report that Tottenham’s scout was watching Lepinjica and left with a good impression of the 19-year-old as Rijeka beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-1 in Pula to clinch some silverware.

The youngster, who can also play as a centre-back, has emerged as a key figure for Rijeka after returning from a loan spell at second division Zadar in February.

Lepinjica has made 11 top-flight appearances and scored one goal for Igor Biscan’s side, who will finish the saeson second – but over 20 points behind Dinamo.

Reports have linked him with a move to Italy where Atalanta, Fiorentina and Udinese are said to be interested, but Spurs could easily outbid any of them.

Sportskih Novosti suggest a fee of 5million euros would be enough to secure the transfer of Lepinjica, who is no stranger to a yellow card – having earned four in his last six appearances.
