Llorente backs Spurs to overcome Wembley woes

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente insists his team-mates can win games at Wembley following their below par start.

Spurs laboured to a 0-0 draw against Swansea City on Saturday evening, their second successive draw at their temporary home after Chris Wood’s late equaliser last month denied them victory against Burnley.

Having also struggled at the ground last term, there are fears their home form could hinder their chances of winning the Premier League title.

They were also beaten 2-1 by Chelsea earlier in the season after a late Marcos Alonso winner and are winless at home after three games, despite a brilliant 3-1 triumph against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

However, Llorente says it is not a crisis situation for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, insisting his team-mates are not far off producing the goods to be able to mount a title challenge.

“Games like today can happen because one team defends with a lot of players and defends well. It can happen,” Llorente said.

“All the games will not happen like today. If Harry Kane scores when the ball touches the post we are speaking about other things. We have to continue to work and nothing more.”

Tottenham’s next game is away at London rivals West Ham and punters may use their free bet to back Spurs for victory.
