Rivals to bid for Rose

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are bracing themselves for a bid from Manchester United for Danny Rose as Jose Mourinho wants him as his regular left-back.

United have long been linked with a move for Rose, who is now back in the Spurs squad following a lengthy injury lay-off, and another attempt to strike a deal could be made next month.

Rose was recently left out of the Spurs side for the derby clash against Arsenal, and although the defender and Mauricio Pochettino played down talk of a rift, relations are said to be strained.

The England international’s comments in a newspaper article earlier in the year, where he admitted he wanted to return north, also did not go down well.

Reports in the press now claim that Mourinho is determined to get Rose on board, and although negotiations with Spurs will be difficult, expects to and him in a £50million deal.

There is also the possibility, of Luke Shaw, who is out of favour with Mourinho, being included as part of the deal as Pochettino is a fan of the former Southampton star.
