Spurs set for Wanyama lift

Tottenham could have influential midfielder Victor Wanyama for the Premier League clash against Liverpool at Wembley on October 22.

The 26-year-old Kenya international, who joined Spurs from Southampton for a fee of around £11million in summer 2016, has barely featured this season after suffering a left knee injury in pre-season.

Wanyama played in the games against Newcastle and Chelsea in August before further aggravating the problem and he has not made an appearance since.

But the former Celtic man is now building up his fitness levels and, while this Saturday’s Premier League visit of Bournemouth and the mouth-watering Champions League Group H trip to Real Madrid next Tuesday will probably come too soon, the clash with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds is a definite possibility for his comeback.
