Aybaba hoping to lure Hornets star Okaka to Bursaspor

Watford striker Stefano Okaka is wanted by Bursaspor, but their boss Samet Aybaba has admitted it will be 'difficult' to do a deal.

The 28-year-old joined the Hornets from Anderlecht in 2016 but has struggled to make himself first choice and has been regularly linked with a move away.

Italian side Bologna were expected to do a deal for Okaka, especially with Watford snapping up Adam Masina from them in this window, while Hornets boss Javi Gracia appears keen to keep him on board after giving him a chance to shine after replacing Marco Silva as boss in January.

Turkish side Bursapor have now joined in the race to try and snap up Okaka in the next month, but Aybaba is not hugely confident of success.

‘Such transfers are difficult,’ he said about Okaka.

‘There is a certain process, the footballer has to feel seriously interested.

‘We have to go through the stages, these are not immediate ones and we will do the necessary interventions. There are negotiations.’
