Watford move to keep Gracia at the helm
Javi Gracia is reportedly close to agreeing terms on a three-year contract extension to remain as Watford head coach.
The Spaniard signed an initial 18-month deal when appointed as Marco Silva’s successor in January and the club are keen to reward him for his efforts following a successful spell in charge.
The former Malaga chief guided the Hornets away from the relegation zone following his arrival in England and has built on that achievement this term, steering the team to ninth in the Premier League after the first eight games of this season.
The Telegraph are now reporting that talks between the club and Gracia over a new deal are close to being completed and he will sign a new contract to remain at Vicarage Road until 2021.
Having become the first head coach in four years to remain in charge from the end of the previous season and with a new deal on the table, Watford appear ready to make a long-term commitment to the 48-year-old.
