Croatian starlet linked

Watford are reported to be showing an interest in Lokomotiva starlet Lovro Majer ahead of the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old is making a name for himself in Croatia following some dazzling performances for Lokomotiva and he has caught the eye of Watford talent spotters.

The playmaker scored four goals last season, but it was the fact his provided 11 assists that has got people talking, and both Atletico Madrid and Celtic are also said to be in the hunt.

With Everton, Lille, Nice and Sampdoria also keeping tabs on him, a huge battle could be on the cards in January and the Hornets could be best advised to move quickly.

Everton have just snapped up Nikola Vlasic from Hajduk Split in Croatia, and if reports are to be believed, they are in the box seat to do a deal, but Watford could be in a better position to offer him first-team football.
