Baggies ace eyes improvements

West Bromwich Albion

Billy Jones feels he has continued to improve as a player and is aiming to progress even further at West Brom.

The former Preston North End full-back, who will be celebrating his 26th birthday on Sunday, has enjoyed a gradual rise to the first team since he was snapped up on a Bosman free transfer in summer 2011.

Jones featured in 18 Premier League games last term and he has gone on to challenge Steven Reid further for the right-back berth this term and made his 19th top-flight outing in the recent draw at Stoke City.

Jones is now aiming to finish the season on a high note in order to ensure he is the first name on boss Steve Clarke’s team-sheet for next season.

He told the club’s website: “I feel as though I have improved on last year. Stoke away was my 19th appearance. Last year I made 18 so that’s a positive for me.

“I feel as though I have improved this season again in the Premier League. I hope I can play some more games this season and improve again by playing more games next season, and improve season on season.”
