Baggies bid for Ligue 1 midfielder claim

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom have reportedly made a £16.5m bid for Marseille's Cameroon international midfielder Andre-Franck Zambo Anguissa.

The 22-year-old has been a strong performer for the Ligue 1 club this season and also caught the eye with Cameroon in the Confederations Cup last summer.

Reports in Africa claim the Baggies have made a 19m euros bid, which would suggest that Zambo Anguissa has been identified as Alan Pardew’s top midfield target in the January transfer window.

The ex-Reims star has made 13 league starts and 19 appearances in total, but has not scored for Marseille this season.

He scored against Australia in last summer’s Confederations Cup and once in World Cup qualifying, but Cameroon didn’t make it to Russia 2018.
