West Ham v Manchester United team news
West Ham host Manchester United at the London Stadium on Sunday looking to try and leapfrog their rivals with a victory.
The Hammers sit eighth in the division following an excellent recovery to their 5-0 thrashing against Manchester City on the opening day of the season.
Since that game they have picked up eight points from four games as they sit in the top half of the table, though that could change come Sunday due to the tight and congested nature of the pack in mid table.
Manuel Pellegrini has a largely fit squad to choose from ahead of the contest though he will be forced into making a change at left-back.
Arthur Masuaku was sent off in their 0-0 draw with Aston Villa so Aaron Cresswell is set to make his first appearance since their win over Newport in the Carabao Cup last month.
Elsewhere, a late fitness test will be required for midfielder Manuel Lanzini though the issue is not thought to be a serious one.
Michail Antonio and Winston Reid are the only long-term absentees but the latter is set to return to full training next week after being out for more than a year.
Manchester United go into the game on the back of a fairly uninspiring 1-0 win against Kazakhstan outfit Astana in the Europa League, though manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used a heavily rotated squad for that contest.
Squad players such as Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo, as well as youngsters Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong and match-winner Mason Greenwood were all given starts, but Solskjaer is expected to revert to a first-choice line up.
However, French duo Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial along with Luke Shaw will miss the game through injury.
Dan James is also a doubt, after suffering an ankle knock in their 1-0 win over Leicester last Saturday.
Despite those problems, the Red Devils are facing a side they historically love playing against – they have been beaten in only two of the last 21 meetings, although one of those was a 3-1 defeat in this fixture last season.
