Bilic bemoans Cresswell absence

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic believes it is unfair he cannot appeal against Aaron Cresswell's suspension.

The Hammers left-back will serve a one-match suspension after he was dismissed for two bookable offences in the win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Cresswell was handed his first yellow for simulation and his second for a foul just moments later but Bilic feels the decisions were harsh.

Under Football Association rules, individual yellow cards cannot be appealed, unless awarded due to mistaken identity, and as such the on-field call by referee Martin Atkinson must stand.

“I don’t understand it when you can appeal against a red card and yet not two yellows,” Bilic told the London Evening Standard. “The first one was a penalty for us and then the second yellow was just wrong.

“There are no hard feelings, though, because we won the game.”
