West Ham to bring in transfer chief

West Ham are reportedly set to bring in a director of football in the summer as they attempt to appease their fans.

Over the weekend West Ham fans vented their frustration towards co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan in the midst of their 3-0 defeat to Burnley.

Some fans made their way on to the field while a larger number of supporters focused their anger on the directors box at the London Stadium.

The West Ham faithful have grown disillusioned with the way their club is being run and manager David Moyes has also refused to commit long-term unless they change their approach to transfers.

Reports now claim that Sullivan has agreed to step back from transfer negotiations in order to allow a specialist director of football to come on board at the end of the season.

However, West Ham may find themselves in the Championship by that point as they continue to scrap it out at the wrong end of the table.

Saturday’s defeat has left them in 16th place, just two points above the bottom three, with just eight games left to play.
