Thiago could be Modric replacement
Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara is reportedly being lined up by Real Madrid as a possible replacement for Luka Modric.
Croatia international Modric is wanted by Inter Milan and the midfielder is believed to be keen to make the move to Italy after starring for his country in the World Cup in Russia this summer.
Reports say Real have been in contact with Bayern over a deal to sign Thiago for around 50million euros – a similar price to what Inter are willing to pay to secure Modric’s services.
Real do not want to lose Modric but speculation in recent days has suggested the former Tottenham man has informed club officials of his desire to make the move to Milan and they are looking at alternatives should his exit be sanctioned.
Lazio playmaker Sergey Milinkovic-Savic, Juventus star Miralem Pjanic and Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen have all also been linked with moves to the Bernabeu should Modric depart.
