Modric injury adds to Real woes
Real Madrid’s injury problems have increased after midfielder Luka Modric picked up a thigh problem.
Los Blancos have been rocked by a number of injury problems so far this season, with Benjamin Mendy, Thibaut Courtois, Mariano Diaz, Sergio Ramos, Rodrygo, Eden Hazard, James Rodriguez and Isco all on the sidelines.
Modric’s season has already been disrupted after picking up a red card this season and he will not be able to build on his two appearances for a while yet.

Real have revealed the Croatia international midfielder has picked up an injury but are yet to confirm exactly how long he will be absent.
A statement released on the club’s official website read: “Following the tests carried out today on our player Luka Modric by Real Madrid’s medical department, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury to the adductor in his right leg. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
The injury to the 34-year-old is the last thing Real boss Zinedine Zidane needs at the moment and he will be keeping his fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
Luka Jovic has also returned from international duty carrying a knock, while Brahim Diaz is injured and Marco Asensio is out for the season.
It means the Real squad is looking light as they look to make up for the disappointment of finishing last season without a single piece of silverware.
