Valencia forward Rodrigo poised to make Atleti move
Valencia have reportedly accepted defeat in their quest to keep striker Rodrigo Moreno from the clutches of La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid this summer.
The 28-year-old, who came through Real Madrid’s academy but never managed to earn a senior appearance, joined Los Che in 2014 from Benfica, initially on a loan deal and has gone on to win 17 caps for Spain, scoring four times.
Rodrigo had been linked with a summer move to England, but no deal materialised before the Premier League’s transfer window closed on August 8 and it has paved the way for Atletico to swoop.
Atletico Madrid are set to complete a €60 million (£56m/$67m) deal to sign Valencia star Rodrigo Moreno.
Sources close to the negotiations have revealed to Goal that a move is expected to become official in the next few days.pic.twitter.com/xgg2YizOV6

He scored 17 goals in 45 matches in all competitions last term – eight in 33 La Liga appearances – but Atleti boss Diego Simeone sees him as an ideal man to complement highly-rated Portuguese forward Joao Felix, who joined earlier in the summer.
Valencia wanted to keep Rodri and boss Marcelino claimed earlier in the week that a transfer had been cancelled.
But, fresh negotiations between Atleti CEO Miguel Angel Marin, Los Che president Peter Lim and agent Jorge Mendes appears to have resulted in a €60million deal being agreed.
