A run of defeats, culminating in the 3-2 setback at Blackburn last time out, has seen QPR slip back towards the Premier League drop zone and they only avoid a bottom three place on goal difference.
With two vital home games coming up, Derry remains confident the R's will escape relegation, but with just 13 fixtures left to play, the clock is ticking on the season and the need to get back to winning ways at home to Fulham on Saturday is paramount.
Derry told the club's website: "We've had a couple of bad results in the last few games. You don't want to get too depressed about that, because the games are so important.
"You need to be fully focused. To stay calm is important, but not too calm.
"We've got to start getting wins as soon as possible."
QPR follow up the weekend clash against Martin Jol's Fulham with another home game against Everton the weekend after, and two victories could go a long way to securing the club's top-flight status.
