Foreign players now settled - Caixinha

Pedro Caixinha feels it was inevitable that Rangers' foreign recruits would take time to adapt but believes they are now settled.

The Gers brought in the likes of 21-year-old Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, Mexico midfielder Carlos Pena and Portuguese winger Daniel Candeias.

The trio struggled early on in the season but their improvement has mirrored that of the club's, with the Ibrox giants now fourth in the Scottish Premiership standings, just three points adrift of table-topping Celtic.

And Caixinha felt it was obvious they would need to discover just what it means to live and play in Scotland before the fans saw the best of the new stars.

"All of them needed different times to get adapted. It's a different reality, a different culture," he said. "Even for me as a European from Portugal, it's different coming to live in Scotland.

"Imagine what it's like for someone from the other side of the world to get adapted to this culture, this type of football.

"For example, the guys from Mexico find it unusual to play all the time with the pitch wet. That gives you more pace in the game and they need to understand that.

"However, they're now getting together in the direction we want."
