The Royals picked up their first Barclays Premier League win of the season as Adam Le Fondre fired in a second-half brace after some poor defending had seen Steven Naismith put Everton ahead before the break.
Morrison admitted the Reading defenders did not cover themselves in glory for Naismith's goal but also praised the way the side fought back during the second 45 minutes.
"It was a bit of a sloppy goal to give away, but I thought the boys came out in the second half and took the game to Everton. We were absolutely fantastic," he told the club's official website.
"The transformation from the first half to the second half was great. The gaffer spoke to us and we came out and reacted brilliantly. We defended from the front and the tempo was lifted."
