Having beaten St Helens last time out and thrashed Huddersfield the week before Hull will be looking to make it three on the bounce when they take on struggling Widnes on Friday night.
They last tasted defeat when they suffered a reverse at home to Catalans three weeks ago, a game which saw Ellis take a knock to the head and be forced off with concussion.
The 35-year-old is now chomping at the bit to return to the side and can't wait to get back in, according to coach Lee Radford, who had expected him to be ready last weekend.
“It was probably a week later than expected originally and we managed to cope well without him,” Radford said.
“But to have him back in the squad with the fixtures that we have coming up is a real plus for the team.”
Hull sit in third in the Super League table and could go joint top with a win over Denis Betts' team.
