Keith Galloway is set for an operation on his ruptured Achilles tendon and is expected to miss the start of next season for Leeds.
The Rhinos' forward has confirmed on his Instagram page that he needs surgery on the injury he suffered in his side's Super 8s defeat to Huddersfield at the weekend.
Neither Galloway or the club have put a timescale on his recovery but it is expected he will be out for around six months at least, meaning the former Australia international, who now also represents Scotland, will not be fit for the new Super League season, which begins in February.
Galloway posted: "Just waiting at the hospital to have surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles. Been a long and tough year, but one I have enjoyed in new colours and for such a great club. Great bunch of fellas, and looking forward to getting this surgery done, getting all the rehab done and getting back for 2017 #MOT."
Galloway joined the Rhinos from West Tigers last year and made 22 appearances, scoring one try.
