Hull FC veteran Kirk Yeaman has confirmed he will retire from the sport at the end of the current campaign.
The 33-year-old has represented his hometown club for 15 years, making a total of 371 appearances but he is now ready to call time.
The ex-England international has recently been involved in talks with the club about moving into a future role behind the scenes.
Yeaman admitted that it was a tough decision to make but feels the time is right to step aside and allow the younger players to take over.
"It was a really tough call to make. Playing rugby is all I've done since the age of five. But, as they say, all good things come to an end." Yeaman said.
"It's been something that I've been thinking about for a while. I'm 33 and I'm not getting any younger.
"My body isn't what it used to be. These last few weeks, particularly after winning the Challenge Cup, confirmed it for me."
