Moriarty happy to be patient

Gloucester forward Ross Moriarty insists he won’t rush back from the injury that ruled him out of the British and Irish Lions tour.

The 23-year-old had to pull out of the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand over the summer after picking up a back injury.

Moriarty has been working with the club's physios over the summer in a bid to be fit for the season opener against Exeter on September 1, however, it looks unlikely he will be ready in time.

The Wales international insists he is happy to take his time with the rehabilitation process and will not risk a recurrence of the issue by rushing back.

Moriarty said: “I’m getting there, I’m taking my time and doing a lot of work with the conditioners and the physios.

“They’re guiding me in the right direction and making sure my body’s going to be good when I’m going to be able to play again.

“Hopefully it won’t be too long but we’ll see what happens.”
