Pitch inspection called in Gers’ tie

Scotland FA Cup

Rangers' Scottish Cup match at Fraserburgh has been cast into doubt after the Highland League side called for a pitch inspection.

The Light Blues are due to make their first ever trip to Bellslea Park for the fourth-round tie on Sunday, but Broch chiefs have now confirmed their playing surface will be inspected at 5pm on Saturday, with wintry conditions gripping most of the north east of Scotland.

Graeme Murty is set to take his new-look side north, with potential debuts for Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy, Russell Martin and Jason Cummings on the cards.

Meanwhile, Albion Rovers have appealed for assistance from fans to clear snow from the pitch at Cliftonhill in a bid to see their tie against St Johnstone given the go-ahead.
