Injury blow for City
HID Scottish League Two, Updated:
New Elgin City signing Ross McKinnon is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a suspected broken ankle.
The former Motherwell defender was poised to make his debut against East Stirling on Saturday but injured himself in the warm up.
He had to be stretchered from the field after going over on his ankle and was rushed to hospital.
The 20-year-old only signed a six-month contract with Elgin in January, but this injury could scupper his chances of even making a single appearance for the Black and Whites.
"Ross was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg, and my thoughts are with him at the moment," said manager Ross Jack after the game.
"We were playing a possession game in the warm up and there was a wee challenge and he went over his ankle.
"You heard the crack, but we're still waiting to hear how bad it is. We think it's pretty serious, the poor boy was in a lot of pain."
