Injury blow for Elgin skipper
HID Scottish League Two, Updated:
Promotion-chasing Elgin have suffered a blow with the news that David Niven is set for a spell on the sidelines with a knee problem.
The 25-year-old originally damaged ligaments in October, but appeared to be fully cured after spending a month on the sidelines recuperating.
However, he suffered a recurrence of the problem on Saturday against Annan and, with his side currently fitting fourth, Elgin manager Ross Jack is understandably disappointed with the news.
"David is a hardy boy so when he goes down injured he must be injured," he said. "The last time we managed to get him back within a month and it would be great if he returned in a similar time frame this time as we have a busy time coming up."
