De Rossi relaxed over future

Serie A

Daniele De Rossi insists he is relaxed about his future even though his contract with Roma expires at the end of the season.

The Italy international has spent his entire club career to date with the Giallorossi, and he made his 400th Serie A appearance for the club during Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Pescara at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 33-year-old has featured in all but two of Roma’s league matches so far this campaign, but his current deal with the club is due to expire in the summer, and talks are yet to begin over extending that deal.

Despite his long-term future remaining in doubt, De Rossi insists he is relaxed about the situation and only focused on helping Luciano Spalletti’s men mount a serious challenge for the Scudetto this term.

Asked about the situation regarding his contract extension, De Rossi said: “Nothing has changed, we’re not talking about it.

“My only concern is the league table. I don’t need to check it because I know how it looks. It’s better than it was yesterday and that’s what matters. Other things are not hugely important for the time being.”
