Ranocchia backs Inter for ‘extraordinary’ season

Inter Milan
Watford are thought to have highlighted the possibility of signing Inter Milan's Andrea Ranocchia in the January transfer window.

Andrea Ranocchia believes Inter Milan are capable of enjoying an "extraordinary" season under Antonio Conte.

Inter have enjoyed an impressive start to life under former Chelsea boss Conte, following up a strong end to pre-season with back-to-back victories over Lecce and Cagliari in Serie A.

Big-name players such as Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Diego Godin arrived at the San Siro over the summer and Ranocchia, who has been an ever-present under Conte, feels Inter are capable of enjoying a successful season, although he is not getting too carried away at this early stage.

“We must stay on this path,” Ranocchia told Sky Sport Italia. “The season is long and there are many commitments awaiting us. Now the games have started coming every three days.

“The work we’re doing is aimed at building something extraordinary, all the players who have arrived are very good, both young and experienced.”

The Nerazzurri face a busy September with league games to come against AC Milan, Lazio and Sampdoria, as well as the start of their Champions League campaign against Slavia Prague on September 17.
