Juve switch focus to Gaya

Juventus have reportedly turned their attention to Valencia’s Jose Gaya as they look to reinforce in January.

The Italian giants had previously expressed an interest in Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam but their hopes were dashed on Monday when it was announced that he had signed an extension running until 2022.

It’s understood that Juventus are now ready to put their full focus on trying to sign Gaya as they look to find a successor to Alex Sandro ahead of his expected exit next summer.

Gaya is a graduate of Valencia’s academy and boasts 101 La Liga appearances, having made his first team debut in 2012, while he has also turned out for Spain on 15 occasions at under-21 level.

The 22-year-old’s stock has risen hugely this season with Valencia enjoying a strong start to their domestic campaign and Juventus could face competition from elsewhere for his signature.
