Juventus set up teenage defender swoop

Serie A

Juventus are preparing to secure the signature of Romanian defender Radu Dragusin on his 16th birthday after two successful trials.

The 15-year-old centre-back currently plays for Sport Regal of Bucharest, a satellite club of Atletico Madrid.

But Juventus have tested the Romania Under-16 captain in two matches already and have decided to make their move for a fee rumoured to be in the region of 250,000 euros.

Dragusin played for Juve’s Under-16 side in a 2-2 draw with Inter and he also proved capable of stepping up to Under-17 level in a 4-3 win over AC Milan.

He can’t sign for the Turin club until he turns 16 on February 16 and reports claim Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

Juventus recently beat their major domestic rivals to the signings of Mattia Caldara from Atalanta and Federico Bernardeschi from Fiorentina, both 23, as the Old Lady plan for the future.
