De Ligt hits back at Kluivert’s claims
Centre-back Matthijs de Ligt has denied claims by Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert that he now regrets his summer move to Juventus.
De Ligt’s signature was much sought-after during the off-season and it seemed as though he would be following his then Ajax team-mate Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona.
However, in a slightly surprising move, the 20-year-old signed up with the Old Lady in a £67.7m deal despite interest from other big clubs.
The youngster has not enjoyed the best of starts to his time in Turin, with the Italian media criticising his displays in the heart of the Juve defence.
Matthijs De Ligt's reply to Kluivert who said that De Ligt regrets moving to Juventus:
De Ligt: "Of course I don't regret it.. I heard this too, people write a lot.. If someone like him says it then it might make it more true but I guess it’s just an assumption of him." Voetbal pic.twitter.com/0A5R5WWYAX

That prompted Kluivert, who works at the Barca academy having spent six years with the Catalans as a player, to suggest that his compatriot might be having second thoughts about his choice of club.
But De Ligt is having none of it and made it clear that Kluivet’s words should be taken with a pinch of salt.
“I don’t regret the fact I have moved to Juventus,” he told Voetbal Primeur. “They are saying and writing a lot of stuff. If a person like Kluivert says something like that, it might seem true, but it really is just his assumption.”
Juve are in their customary position at the top of the Serie A standings, with Inter one point behind and seemingly their only challengers in 2019-20.
The man capped 23 times by the Netherlands has made nine league appearances but has struggled in the Champions League and not looked his usual assured self at the back.
