AC Milan are reportedly on the verge of handing a new deal to midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura although there are complications.
The 27-year-old, who joined the club in 2014, played a key role last term, scoring six times and providing eight assists to make his mark in Serie A.
Milan are eager to ensure they keep hold of the Italian and reports claim they have offered an improved salary of two million euros per season, which has been agreed and would double his current earnings.
However, there is a dispute between the club and his agent, Mino Raiola, over the length of the contract which is currently set to expire in 2019.
Raiola wants the same expiry date, meaning essentially that he wants a wage rise with no extra commitment from the player.
The San Siro outfit are hoping to see his contract run through to 2021 and that has left talks at a standstill.
