AC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci is set for further tests on his hamstring injury amid fears he could be out for the rest of 2016.
Bertolacci has played just five minutes for Milan all season, coming on as a substitute against Torino in the first game of the campaign before being quickly forced off with his hamstring injury.
The former Genoa man has not played since and reports in Italy suggest he has suffered a setback and there are concerns he might not be fit until the new year at the earliest.
La Repubblica is claiming he will undergo new tests to ascertain the extent of the damage and may even require an operation over the coming weeks.
Bertolacci made 27 Serie A appearances last season, scoring once.
