Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik has hailed manager Maurizio Sarri as special and insists he was key in convincing him to sign.
The 22-year-old joined the Italian outfit for a fee of 35million euros from Ajax over the summer after impressing at Euro 2016 with Poland.
The hitman has already bagged six goals in as many appearances across all competitions and looks to have settled immediately into life as the Partenopei’s replacement for Gonzalo Higuain.
Milik insists he is delighted to have joined the club and has talked up the Sarri’s influence on the squad as a whole after making a strong start to the campaign.
“He’s a special person, that’s for sure,” Milik said. “He spends a lot of time on tactics, there wasn’t much of that at other clubs. On the other hand I know that’s a characteristic of this country and the clubs in Italy.
“You can also see that our team plays very attacking football, we don’t play typical Italian football. It’s a bit of a mix and I like it a lot.
“We play forward a lot, pass the ball around a lot and try to create attacks whenever we can. It’s beautiful but it’s hard to compare Sarri with other coaches, I’d rather not do that.
“I’m just happy to be here, and he certainly helped me to make the decision to join the club.”
