President James Pallotta hopes that work on Roma's new stadium can begin in March next year thanks to the efforts of Rome's mayor.
The Giallorossi are looking to build their own stadium after sharing the Stadio Olimpico with city rivals Lazio since the early 1960s.
It has been a lengthy process to get the project off the ground, with plenty of red tape to overcome, but it seems as though things are finally moving in the right direction.
Pallotta is now looking for the green light to start the building and praised the Eternal City's mayor for his hard work in getting the process to an advanced stage.
"We’ve been working on the stadium for four years," he told Sky. "Now it’s at the regional level, our mayor has been fantastic and we talked about a lot of things like the team and the stadium.
"There were no particular issues or problems, even if the media like to speculate sometimes. We’re working closely with the city, there were some problems linked to timing but it’s all fine now.
"We spoke with [President of the Lazio region Nicola] Zingaretti and we hope to start the first works in March."
