Peres set for fortnight's absence

Roma look set to do without Bruno Peres for the next fortnight after the left-back suffered a thigh injury whilst training.

The Brazilian missed Roma’s 3-1 victory over Napoli on Saturday after suffering the injury in the final training session before the encounter with the Azzurri.

Manager Luciano Spalletti will now have to do without the South American for the next two weeks, with his Giallorossi side currently five points behind Serie A frontrunners Juventus.

A statement on the club's official website: “Bruno Peres today underwent tests that showed a grade-one injury to his pectineus muscle in his right adductor.

“The Brazilian full-back, who has so far racked up 10 appearances this season and stopped training at the conditioning stage on Friday ahead of the Napoli-Roma match, has already begun the rehabilitation process as expected. Today’s prognosis is estimated to be about fifteen days.”

Juan Jesus filled the void at left-back against Napoli and looks set to continue in the role in absence of Peres.
