Viola braced for bids

Fiorentina are bracing themselves for interest in striker Nikola Kalinic ahead of the transfer deadline, with Everton said to be keen.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has already drafted in Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez this summer, but he wants even more firepower following the departure of Romelu Lukaku, and Kalinic is a target.

Fiorentina are keen to keep hold of the 29-year-old, who has a prolific goalscoring record, but reports in Italy claim an offer in the region of £22million may be too good for them to turn down.

Kalinic scored 20 goals in all competitions last season and Koeman believes the striker would have no problem making the switch from Serie A to the Premier League.

Viola will want the situation sorting as soon as possible in order to give coach Stefano Pioli enough time to draft in an able replacement before the transfer deadline passes.
