Chinese takes away Telford 147

Ding Junhui recorded his second career maximum 147 break as he hit back from two frames down to John Higgins in Telford.

The Chinese potter, 21, trailed Higgins 2-0 in his UK Championship second-round match when he crafted the frame-winning maximum.

After potting 15 reds and 15 blacks, the world number 11 looked nervous as he attempted to clear the colours.

But after stepping away from the table for a sip of water, the 2005 champion coolly potted the pink and black.

Ding is now in pole position to claim the £5,000 prize for the highest break and £25,000 bonus for the maximum, although that money would be split if another player can achieve a 147 in the tournament.
