Lallana linked with Saints exit
Southampton, Latest news update:
Southampton star Adam Lallana has emerged as a January target for Premier League rivals Manchester United.
United boss David Moyes is keen to strengthen his midfield options in the New Year and has been linked with a number of midfielders in the build-up to the January transfer window.
Lallana has now emerged as a target for the Old Trafford side but Saints are unlikely to entertain any offers in January, unless the Old Trafford side make a bid that is simply too good to turn down.
A £15million fee has been mooted but such a figure is unlikely to convince Southampton to cash-in on the England international, as boss Mauricio Pochettino has stressed on a number of occasions he is under no pressure to sell.
Lallana is also desperate to be involved in England's World Cup squad and may snub a mid-season move in order to ensure he is guaranteed first-team football in the latter half of the season, which would give him the best chance of being included in Roy Hodgson's squad for the tournament in Brazil.
