Saints boss demanding 'unpaid' £450,000

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino has issued a formal complaint against former club Alaves over money he claims remains unpaid.

The Spanish top-flight club deny they still owe half a million euros to the Argentine and issued a statement last month to insist that outstanding monies had been paid.

Pellegrino guided Alaves to the Copa del Rey final last season but left to take over at St Mary's in the summer.

Marca claim Pellegrino and his staff Xavi Tamarit, Carlos Compagnucci, David Rodriguez and Javier Lopez Vallejo are all owed 100,000 euros each.

And newspaper Diario de Noticias de Alava state that he is planning to take his former club to court over their breach of contract.
