Hutton not expecting Rangers return for Rossiter
Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton feels Jordan Rossiter has already played his final game for the Glasgow giants.
Midfielder Rossiter originally joined Rangers from Liverpool in 2016, but his time at Ibrox has been hampered by injuries and he has only made 16 first-team appearances as a result, with his solitary goal coming in the 5-5 draw with Hibernian at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 22-year-old has fallen further down the pecking order since his former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard took over as manager in 2018, spending the second half of last season on loan in League Two with Bury.
Rossiter was also sent out on loan at the start of the current campaign to Fleetwood, who are managed by former Rangers midfielder Joey Barton, with the duration of the deal set to take him to the end of his contract in Glasgow.

Fresh terms do not seem to be in the pipeline for Rossiter and Hutton, who made over 100 appearances for Rangers at the start of his career, feels the former England youth international may well have already made his final appearance for the club.
Hutton told Football Insider: “I can’t imagine (him playing for Rangers again). It’s difficult, he’s come up and I think he’s had injury problems before he actually signed, as in a history of problems.
“It was difficult, he found it hard to stay fit for long periods of time. He’s out on loan at the moment, can I see him playing for Rangers again? No, no really. Midfield, they’re very strong at the moment.”
