Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes welcomes Scott McKenna back from injury but will be without seven other first-teamers for the Dons’ trip to St Johnstone.

McKenna has recovered from the hamstring injury he sustained on the opening day of the season against Rangers and will take over from the suspended Michael Devlin after he failed to overturn his controversial red card against Kilmarnock.

But McInnes is also without Tommy Hoban (shoulder), Mark Reynolds (knee), Greg Tansey (groin), Scott Wright (ankle) and James Wilson (hamstring), while wideman Frank Ross has returned from Scotland Under-21 action carrying a knock.

Provisional squad: Lewis, Logan, Lowe, McKenna, Considine, Shinnie, Ball, Forrester, Gleeson, Mackay-Steven, Ferguson, McGinn, Cosgrove, May, Anderson, McLennan, Campbell, Cerny.
