McInnes wants Saints response

Derek McInnes has called on his St Johnstone players not to let their season "peter out" and make certain of their place in the SPL.

Saints are currently 13 points away from bottom club Falkirk following their 1-0 defeat to Hamilton at New Douglas Park, but McInnes is seeking an impressive end to their season.

McInnes doesn't want his squad to waste the "good work" they have down to date and is calling for the campaign to end on a high note.

The manager said: "You see a lot of teams at this stage of the season who think they're safe and there's nothing really to go for. Those teams kind of toss the season away.

"We won't be that team. We've still got points to win to make sure we're still a Premier League club next year."
