Delap focussed on Stoke
Stoke star Rory Delap is putting his international disappointment behind him by concentrating on the Potters' survival bid.
Delap has been out of the picture with the Republic of Ireland for four years now after winning 11 caps and admits his time with his country is all but over.
He told the Sentinel: "I'd like to play again, but it is four years since I was last in the squad and I can't see me getting the call again.
"They have a young squad now. You never say never, but I don't see it happening.
"They have had big training squads and B internationals, but I've not heard anything so I'm not waiting by the phone."
Delap added: "I just want to do well for Stoke City. I am trying to do the best I can for them and then anything else is out of my hands. But I am not going out there playing to try to get into the international side."
