Jones vows to fight on

Kenwyne Jones says he will continue to fight for his place in the Stoke side in the hope his hard work will eventually be rewarded.

Jones has struggled for regular action at the Britannia Stadium and there have been suggestions he could leave on loan with a number of Championship clubs said to be keen.

However Jones, who impressed when coming on against QPR at the weekend, is staying focused on winning a place in the starting line up even if he does not agree with Tony Pulis' decision to play others ahead of him.

"I have to be careful how I am answering this question; I don't want to be too honest," he revealed when asked about his thoughts on being left out of the side.

"I guess the manager knows what his plans are for the season, so all I can do is just keep doing what I am doing. Hopefully that will warrant some sort of reward before the season ends.

"I can only do what I can. There are quite a few players in that position and we are all working hard to try to get that place.

"Whether or not we get it is a different story, but every day we are going to keep working and keep grinding away to try to make ourselves and the team better."
