Lawrence in line for new deal
Stoke are set to offer midfielder Liam Lawrence a bumper new deal to end interest from Portsmouth, according to reports.
Lawrence endured an injury-plagued start to the Premier League season but returned from ankle trouble to play his part in keeping the Potters in the top flight against the odds.
The former Sunderland man's form is said to have alerted Pompey who are set to be boosted imminently by a buy-out which will generate massive transfer funds.
Stoke, though, want to keep hold of Lawrence and are tipped to offer the 27-year-old a fresh contract to keep him at the Britannia Stadium.
Lawrence is in line to make his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in the friendly against Nigeria at Craven Cottage on Friday.
