Potters eye forgotten Reds hitman

Stoke are weighing up whether to make an offer for Liverpool forward Danny Ings as they seek to bolster their strikeforce in January.

The 25-year-old has barely featured under Reds boss Jurgen Klopp after rupturing his cruciate knee ligaments in the German's first training session, being forced to settle for a place in the Merseysider's Under-23 set-up.

Plenty of Premier League clubs are ready to offer the former Burnley an escape route from Anfield with Newcastle, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Brighton having all been linked to his services.

Stoke are thought to have joined the race for Ings' signature having recently seen him in action in person, the Englishman scoring twice against the Potters' reserves in a Premier League Cup match.

Manager Mark Hughes has already hinted that he would like to add to his attacking options when the January transfer window opens and will reportedly offer to take Ings on loan.
