Star hit back at critics
Latest news update:
Ryan Shawcross has no problem with Stoke's reputation for playing hard and says the fear factor will work in their favour.
The Potters were heavily criticised for their strong-arm tactics when Tony Pulis was in charge but they are still getting it in the neck following the appointment of Mark Hughes.
Arsenal in particular were unhappy with the way Stoke played as the Gunners slipped to a 1-0 defeat at the Britannia Stadium, but Shawcross says long may it continue.
Shawcross has defended Stoke's style of play but believes the fear that teams have when they arrive in the Potteries, certainly weighs heavily in their favour.
"If people don't like playing against us because we are dirty - which we are not - that's fine," he told Sky Sports News. "Reputations might scare people sometimes so that is fine by us. People just don't like coming to the Britannia.
"We have picked up some brilliant scalps this year and you can see why. When sides come there they tend to struggle."
