Stoke veteran rules out retirement

Stoke striker Peter Crouch insists he isn't thinking about retirement just yet and hopes to continue at the top level.

Crouch has forced his way back into the starting line-up at the bet365 Stadium after having to settle for a role as a substitute in the first half of the campaign.

The 36-year-old will have just one year remaining on his deal when the season comes to an end but Crouch says he hopes to continue playing for as long as possible.

Speaking to The Big Interview with Graham Hunter podcast, he said: “I'm 36 years old but I love it and am not going anywhere any day soon. It's literally a joy every day.

“Sometimes you look at players and think 'they don't really want to be here.' You think 'you must have enjoyed it to get to the level you are now.' But I see players who don't really want to train.

“Thankfully, you don't see it very often, but when you do, it's an eye-opener."
