Bruce steps up transfer search

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is already stepping up his search for new players with Nikola Zigic and Darren Bent on his wish list.

Bruce will be handed a large transfer kitty to rebuild the Black Cats side this summer and has already spoken of his excitement at some of the players he will be able to move for.

The new man will be looking to strengthen all areas of his squad, but, following the departure of Djibril Cisse, at least one new striker is needed and both Zigic and Bent have been linked.

The Black Cats have long been linked with a move for Bent and it seems as though there is no smoke without fire as far as the Tottenham striker is concerned.

Bent would cost in the region of £10million and there is sure to be a host of clubs showing an interest should Spurs cash in. Meanwhile, Valencia striker Zigic has also attracted plenty of interest and it seems to be only a matter of time before the 6ft 8in targetman heads to the Premiership.

As soon as Steve Bruce makes his first signing for the Black Cats we will send out mobile alerts on our new sms system.
