New boy set for debut

Martin O'Neill will be able to call upon new signing Wayne Bridge for tonight's home clash with Norwich in the Premier League.

Bridge signed on loan from Manchester City on Tuesday and goers straight into the squad for the clash with Norwich as O'Neill is short of defenders.

The Black Cats boss is already without Wes Brown (medial ligament), Titus Bramble (Achilles/foot) and Matt Kilgallon (ankle) so the arrival of Bridge is a big boost.

Striker Frazier Campbell made a goalscoring return to the side on Sunday after 17 months on the sidelines but two games in three days may come to early for him and both David Vaughan and Lee Cattermole are doubts.

Striker Nicklas Bendtner is out as he recovers from a broken nose and other facial injuries.
